Environmental Liability Assessment Specialist – Calgary, Alberta

Waterline Resources Inc. is seeking an environmental liability assessment specialist for our contaminant group in Calgary, Alberta.

Qualifications should include:

  • 8-10 years' experience in contaminated site management, specializing in liability assessments related to the Energy Resource Conservation Board (ERCB) Liability Management Directives, Asset Retirement Obligations for Financial reporting and experience as a lead/contributor on Due Diligence Acquisition and Divestiture transactions for upstream Oil & Gas properties.
  • Minimum bachelor degree in earth science, agrology, or environmental engineering, or related field
  • Demonstrated track record of successful project completion
  • Experience with Alberta, British Columbia and federal regulatory regimes
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and writing skills
  • The ability to be flexible and adapt to change
  • Registration with professional organization is preferred (APEGGA, APEGBC, AIA, etc.)

Intermediate/Senior Physical Hydrogeologist (Oil Sands Group) – Calgary, Alberta

Waterline Resources Inc. is seeking a senior physical hydrogeologist for our oil sands group.  The successful applicant must have strong background in both technical and management skills.  This group is involved in all aspects of Baselines, EIAs, source water development, and disposal interval evaluations.

Qualifications should include:

  • At least 5 years of applicable experience;
  • A graduate degree is preferred;
  • Membership or eligibility for membership in APEGGA;
  • A strong technical background in physical hydrogeology;
  • Excellent communication and management skills; and
  • Experience with preparing proposals, developing and nurturing client relationships, and supervising staff.

 

Junior/Intermediate Contaminant Hydrogeologist (Contaminant Group) – Calgary, Alberta

Our Contaminated Sites Group is looking for a contaminant hydrogeologist.  A successful candidate should be a strong technical specialist and project manager.  Practical experience and a well-based knowledge in hydrogeology are required.

As a successful candidate, your duties will include the following:

  • Playing a key role in a wide variety of contaminated sites projects including investigation, characterization and remediation of contaminated sites;
  • Analysis of contaminated sites hydrogeological problems and designs;
  • Timely delivery of high quality products and reports to clients throughout Canada and internationally;
  • Project Management, business development and proposal writing & review; and
  • Continued growth of the inter-disciplinary Contaminated Sites Group in Calgary through recruiting and staff development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited curriculum;
  • A well-rounded theoretical and practical background in hydrogeology and contaminant fate and transport;
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in hydrogeology;
  • Registration as either P.Eng., P.Geol., EIT, or GIT with APEGGA;
  • Expertise with groundwater and contaminant fate and transport modelling is preferred;
  • Experience in project management and business development;
  • Proven leadership and communication skills (written and verbal); and
  • Valid driver's license is required as the position may involve some travel.
