Hydrogeological Investigations and Water Supply for Counties, Towns, and Villages

Sustainable Development

The principle of sustainable development is an important guide to the long term management of groundwater resources. The threat of groundwater shortages and contamination grows with the density of wells and their collective demand on groundwater resources. A sustainable development approach includes groundwater availability mapping which can be used as criteria for locating future development. In any area, continued groundwater resource development can ultimately exceed aquifer recharge causing groundwater mining, and lowering of water levels. Regional hydrogeological assessments provide data for determining impacts to aquifer systems which can be adopted into groundwatermanagement plans for use in locating and managing future developments in a given district.

Waterline Resources has completed multiple AAFC-PFRA funded projects for several Counties in Alberta, conducted regional studies in B.C., and has tested over 2,100 water wells throughout the Province.

Groundwater Supply

Groundwater development and aquifer management studies are a major focus of Waterline Resources Inc.’s hydrogeological service (Waterline). Waterline’s success in developing reliable and sustainable water supplies lies in our ability to effectively evaluate site specific geological and hydrogeological conditions, and to apply drilling and water well construction technologies suitable for those conditions. The assessment of drilling technologies and the use of experienced drilling contractors is essential for the completion of high quality water wells.
