Remediation Planning

Identified environmental issues can be eliminated, reduced or managed in a variety of ways, depending on the nature of the problem.  Remedial planning solutions provided by Waterline include: risk management plans; remedial options assessment and feasibility evaluations; conceptual and detailed remedial design.  In addition, Waterline can complete regulatory permitting exercises, stakeholder liaison and public consultation exercises; to facilitate planned remedial implementation. 

The Waterline team have planned and executed a variety of remedial and risk management programs including: excavation and off site disposal, soil vapour extraction, multi-phase extraction, groundwater pump and treat, constructed subsurface treatment cell, site-specific adjustment of generic standards, detailed site-specific risk assessment, natural attenuation, and risk management.  Ultimately, the consideration and selection of a remedial alternative is a function of the technical specifics of each situation, and client needs.  Waterline works with its clients to establish optimal outcomes to their environmental issues. 

Site Remediation

Waterline’s team has experience with a variety of remedial alternatives, as discussed above.  Depending on the remedial solution being applied, Waterline may contract directly and execute the program (e.g. simple excavation and off site disposal with appropriate excavation and trucking subcontractors and waste receiver).  Larger or more complicated remedial programs would typically require completion of remedial specifications and tender packages, execution and supervision of tenders, contract supervision for implementation of remedial activities, monitoring operational and remedial performance, and confirmatory investigation to demonstrate remedial completion.  Waterline provides these services along with associated project management and reporting services.
